Pursuant to the massive and unprecedented success of our All India Strike on 22.01.2007 against the:
1. Attacks on Trade Union Rights
2. Unilateral changes in staff related policies
3. Harassments of Employees and Officers
4. Non-Implementation of agreed decisions
5. Vindictive attacks on leaders
Instead of recognizing the agitated feelings of the staff, the management has gone berserk and unleashed further offensives and attacks. Already instructions have been sent to issue charge sheets and punishments to 7000 employees and officers, simply because they observed the call of the unions and participated in the strike for which due notice was given by the Trade Unions.
In this background, the meeting of UFCBU was held at Mumbai today. Com S. N. Singh (President, AICBEC) presided over the meeting.
The meeting conveyed its heartiest greetings and congratulations to all the constituent units and members for the massive participation in the strike and exemplary manifestation of their unity, conviction and determination and total confidence in unions and the leadership. The meeting appreciated that despite the management resorted to all types of unfair labour practices and yet employees and officers stood like a rock and did not succumb to the pressure tactics of the management.
The meeting took review of the developments after our strike action and observed that instead of reconciliation, the management has continued their confrontationist attitude.
It is very clear that the design of the management is to terrorise the employees and de-unionise them. It is an attempt to attack the trade union movement in our Bank. After detailed deliberations and discussion, the following decisions were taken. (Zonal strikes announced earlier have been cancelled due to the present developments)
1. The employees / officers are not required to reply any of the provocative communications of the Management issued in relation to the agitation.
2. Protest telegrams to be sent by all our unions and all our branch units to Finance Minister, Govt. of India. (as per the specimen given)
3. Badge wearing on 15.02.2007.

Comrades, a very momentous decision has been taken. As you already are aware that this agitation and struggle has been forced upon us by the management.
Let us rise to the occasion and fight with full determination to make the agitation programme a grand grand success. Unilateralism and attacks of the management have never succeeded against the united protest of Employees’ and Officers’.
Let us fight and we shall succeed.
